Example of how ‘Flat’ and ’Skeuomorphic’ are not antithetical to each other. Well, here’s a skeuomorphic concept - rendered flat. It’s not just Apple that does it. And its not something we could get rid of altogether very easily, yeah? I mean - just look at that microphone!! It’s probably a hundred year old model by now! What IS IT doing on the latest google mobile UI?? If my point is not plain enough already, it’s this : skeuomorphism is not an enemy of good design, and is definitely not the opposite of flat design. It is simply a much misunderstood design approach that will outlive its critics.
